  • Gargle with warm salt water.

  • Floss gently teeth to remove any food particles between teeth.

  • Apply antiseptic containing benzocaine directly to the irritated tooth or gum to temporarily ease the pain.

  • Cold compress may also be applied on the outside cheek if there has been any trauma to the tooth.
